For the last eighteen months, with your help, we’ve been supporting the amazing local charity An Hour for Others and we wanted to give you a quick update on what we have achieved together.
We raise the money by donating 1% of the commission we receive on every sale or letting that completes. This means, whether you are a landlord, tenant, seller or buyer, you are helping make a difference to your community – simply by choosing us as your estate agency!
The aim of An Hour for Others is to bring communities together to inspire positive change from the inside-out. One of things we love about the charity is the fact that they run a programme of events and initiatives that empower and educate people of all ages on areas such as health and well being and general life skills. They also do 'amazing things' for people who are going through tough times and they work with children from all backgrounds to ensure they are given the opportunities to reach their full potential.
So far we have raised a total of £1425 for the charity which actually equates to a social value of £16,587*. This money has been used to organise some of the childrens groups and has helped purchase some items for the charity's new hub which has just opened in Tuebrook.
Of our support, Gill and Kevin, founders of An Hour for Others, said: “A big thanks to LPS and all their clients and customers that have contributed to this donation. It hasmade a huge difference to our charity and to all those we are supporting through our work every day. It is also reassuring to know we have such kind and caring companies within our community."
So, why do we do this? We do it because we are a local and independent family business that cares about our community, and we want to do everything we can to make it a better place for us all to live and work.
As well as donating this money, we have also supported the charity's annual gala, sponsored the annual charity walk and last year our marketing manager Jane refreshed the charity website in her own time! Our director and in-house solicitor Joe also continues in his role as a trustee of the charity.
