We are celebrating having just completed our last Landlord Licence, hurrah! It’s been a long, frustrating process over the past months, especially for Karon who was tasked with completing the majority of them. A huge thank you to her for all her hard work on top of her regular duties.
With this, however, comes the start of the Council Inspections.
Inspectors have already been to a number of properties and these are the areas they seem to be focusing on are:
When the Council is going to inspect your property, they will contact us with an inspection date so that we can arrange access to the property with the tenant. We'll let you know that it is happening, but you won't need to attend. We will meet them on the day to provide them with any documentation and answer any questions. If any issues are found, they will send them to us in a report so we can set up an action plan to resolve them. No issues, no report!
These shouldn’t be a problem for any of our landlords, but they can pick-up on trivial things that are out of our control.
We are also about to run a social media campaign for tenants to remind them of their obligations in helping control mould and condensation and checking the likes of smoke alarms and boilers. You can read a blog we share with them HERE.
